Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Machine Learning and Data Science

Position Description:

A post-doctoral research fellow position is available in the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science, University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. Candidates will be expected to work on federal and state-funded projects to develop novel methods, theory, and software tools in machine learning, artificial intelligence, Big Data analytics, large-scale optimization, high-performance computing, deep learning, text/data mining, and apply them to complex bioinformatics and biomedical data analysis, modeling and integration. The scientific areas of interest include but not limited to neuroimaging, mobile health, omics sciences, and electronic health records.

Applicants must have: A Ph.D. in computer science, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, information science, computational engineering, applied mathematics, (bio)statistics or a related field, with relevant research experience. Computational and programming skills are essential. Strong writing and communication skills evidenced by prior publications are also expected. The position is available immediately.

Salary: NIH post-doc salary scale
